What is Passport to Summer?
Passport to Summer is a fair providing youth and parents one-stop shopping for summer programs. The fairs will feature dozens of booths with information on summer and after-school activities.

What are some examples of featured youth programs?
The City of Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department will provide information on recreation programs, day camps, aquatic events and evening activities. California State University Sacramento will offer information on youth science, sports, backpacking and rafting camps. Many community-based organizations also will offer information about their programs.

Is Passport to Summer for teens, too?
Yes! In addition to information on youth activities, the fairs will offer information to teens on opportunities for both volunteer internships and paid jobs.

What else is there to do at Passport to Summer?
Families who attend can look forward to free food and activities such as face painting and inflatable bounce houses. There will be raffles and lots of free entertainment, including music, dancing and demonstrations of karate and other martial arts.

How was last year’s fair?
Almost 2,000 people attended last year’s youth fairs at Capitol Park and Hagginwood Park, which were co-sponsored by Mayor Fargo and the Sacramento City Council. Check out some of the photos from last year below.
